John Mason Association

The John Mason Association is run by parents and staff in order to foster good links between home and school, provide encouragement and support in all areas of school life.

The John Mason Association is another name for the friends of John Mason School. Anyone with any connections with the school - parents, teachers, students - is automatically a member of the JMA.

Trustees 

At least three trustees have legal responsibility for the Association but a fourth trustee can be co-opted and appointed. The three trustees are normally: The JMA Chair, the head teacher and the governor representative on the JMA committee. There are currently four trustees:

Mr R Mannix (JMA Chair)
Mrs D Mashiter (Head Teacher)
Mrs J Challis (Governor JMA representative)
Mr J Hines (Co-opted – ex-staff and special responsibility for Welsh Farm)

Welsh Farm

The JMA owns and runs the Welsh Farm, which is visited in Year 9 by nearly all students, and used for field trips.

JMA Events Support

The JMA provide refreshments at Parents’ Evenings and evening events throughout the year, including the celebration of the opening of the new buildings. Offers of help with refreshments are welcome, with no obligation to join the committee.
