Dear Parents

As Headteacher, I am delighted to introduce you to our school through our digital prospectus and hope to give you a flavour of our school culture and the high standards we set ourselves.

John Mason has thrived since becoming a Specialist School in the Visual Arts in 2004. This has enabled us to transform the learning resources, opportunities and environment for all our students.

The success of any school is measured by the achievements of its students. At John Mason we believe every student can be successful and happy. Our approach is to offer a wide variety of learning opportunities with the aim of engaging every child so that they are excited by learning and enjoy their time at school. Learning is at the centre of all we do and we aim to encourage all our young people to become independent and confident learners.

We set great store in students’ personal development. We offer a wide range of extra curricular activities and clubs so that every student has a broad range of opportunities open to them.

Service and personal responsibility is expected of all our young people and our aim is to build on our achievements and enhance the learning of all students through partnerships. Both staff and parents have a vital role to play in our young people’s progress. We look forward to welcoming you and your child to John Mason School and hope that together we can provide the best education and range of opportunities for your child.
